About The Position

The Parkview Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and engaging part-time Youth Arts & Crafts Instructor. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the instructor plans and leads arts and crafts activities for youth, encouraging creativity, self-expression, and hands-on learning in a fun and supportive environment. The role is based at the Parkview Family YMCA in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The schedule is Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and one Saturday per month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The hourly pay range is $12.44–$14.50.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation to attend work.
• Able to fulfill all demands and skills in spirit, mind, and body as a cooking instructor in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Positive, service-oriented attitude when serving diverse groups of people across ages, abilities, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion, and other differences.
• Team player willing to contribute to the culture, mission, and values of the Y.

Nice To Haves

• One year of teaching or related experience in the program area is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop age-appropriate arts and crafts activities and lesson plans that encourage creativity, imagination, and skill development.
• Introduce youth to various arts and crafts techniques, providing guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to learn new skills.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and welcoming environment where youth feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their creativity.
• Build meaningful connections with participants while promoting confidence, teamwork, and positive youth development.
