After School Site Assistant - Parkview Family YMCA
About The Position
The Parkview Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic, attentive part-time childcare worker to support its After School YMCA Program Monday through Friday. Site Assistants help create a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment by providing educational and age-appropriate activities for diverse participants. The role involves connecting with children, parents, and supervisors; providing quality care; and assisting with lessons and leading planned activities. The position is at Parkview Family YMCA in Fort Wayne, Indiana, during the 2026–2027 school year, with hours from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age and attending school.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
- Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
- Commitment to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne.

Responsibilities
- Connect quickly with participants, parents, and supervisors using a warm, engaging, and friendly demeanor.
- Actively engage with program participants and provide quality care.

- Help provide educational and age-appropriate activities that promote a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment.
