About The Position

The Parkview YMCA is hiring a part-time Childcare Site Director to support its Before and After School YMCA Program at area elementary schools. The Site Director provides diverse participants with educational, age-appropriate activities and fosters a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., for the 2026–2027 school year, at the Parkview Family YMCA in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Experience supervising multiple children.
• Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with people of diverse ages, races, economic statuses, religions, and cultural backgrounds.
• Commitment to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in supervision preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, open relationships and maintain consistent, effective communication with branch management, staff, students, and parents.
• Engage with program participants and provide quality care to deliver a positive childcare experience.
• Plan and implement the program’s curriculum and schedule.
• Serve as a liaison between participants at the site and the Child Care Services Director.
• Work with fellow staff, seek input, and provide direction.
