About The Position

Protera Health is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join their core clinical team, delivering exceptional virtual orthopedic care to patients in Vermont and nationwide. This role offers the unique opportunity to provide direct patient care while also contributing to a startup and shaping the future of MSK healthcare. Protera Health is a pioneering health-tech startup transforming the delivery of musculoskeletal (MSK) care. Their mission is to treat patients as they would their own loved ones. Founded by orthopedic surgeons and value-based care experts, they tackle major challenges in healthcare by integrating a holistic, multidisciplinary approach with patient tracking technology. They empower patients through education, personalized home exercise programs, and real-time communication with care teams. Their goal is to help individuals with back, neck, and joint pain regain function, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life while also decreasing excessive, unnecessary spend for orthopedic care.

Requirements

  • Must Reside in Vermont
  • Minimum of 2 years of MSK/Orthopedic experience.
  • Strong commitment to delivering top-tier MSK care with empathy and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Enthusiastic about healthcare innovation and digital health solutions.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, professional remote workspace.
  • Willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in telemedicine.
  • Background in health-tech
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
  • Flexibility in availability to meet shifting patient demands. At times mornings are needed, other times more evenings are needed.
  • Additional licensure in any of the following states; MI, WI, MA, or NY

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial medical screenings for newly enrolled patients.
  • Perform follow-up medical assessments and escalations as needed.
  • Diagnose MSK conditions using comprehensive patient information.
  • Collaborate regularly with physicians, physician assistants, physical therapists, and Health coaches to ensure favorable patient outcomes.
  • Engage with the broader clinical team to discuss complex cases and share best practices.
  • Adhere to and help refine clinical protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in clinical and operational initiatives to enhance patient care.
