About The Position

St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital is seeking a Neurology Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join its Neurology team. The APP works closely with neurologists and multidisciplinary staff to provide patient-centered care to individuals with a range of neurological conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves assessing and managing patients, coordinating treatment and follow-up, and contributing to quality improvement and continuing education. Requirements

Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Illinois.
Current Illinois RN and APRN license or Physician Assistant license.
National certification from AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

Neurology experience is preferred; motivated candidates with a strong internal medicine or critical care background may be trained.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive assessments and neurological examinations, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Manage acute and chronic neurological conditions under established clinical protocols.
Provide inpatient consultations and assist with follow-up care and discharges.
Conduct outpatient visits, manage follow-ups, and coordinate ongoing care.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including EEGs, imaging, and laboratory tests, as appropriate.
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive measures.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
