About The Position

MUSC Health - Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Emergency Medicine team serving Columbia Medical Center Downtown, Columbia Medical Center Northeast, and Kershaw Medical Center. This position offers the unique opportunity to practice across multiple emergency departments within the MUSC Health Midlands network. Providers will rotate among Columbia Medical Center Downtown, Columbia Medical Center Northeast, and Kershaw Medical Center, working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver exceptional patient care. This is an outstanding opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while caring for a diverse patient population. The selected candidate will play an integral role in the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients presenting with a wide range of emergent and urgent conditions. Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in emergency medicine, critical care, hospital medicine, or a related acute care setting and demonstrate strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and commitment to patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in South Carolina
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to manage high-acuity patients
  • Commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and clinical excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, or Inpatient Medicine strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the Emergency Department setting
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries
  • Perform procedures consistent with APP scope of practice in emergency medicine
  • Collaborate closely with attending physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Participate in the management of patients requiring critical care and inpatient admission
  • Support efficient patient throughput and high standards of clinical quality
