Advance Practice Provider NP/PA
About The Position
MinuteClinic is hiring a full-time, clinic-based Advanced Practice Provider at its Baytown clinic. The role delivers in-person primary and family care, with virtual visits conducted from the clinic when onsite patient volume is lower and virtual care will not delay or interfere with in-person care. Providers work with clinical support and collaborative resources to deliver holistic, evidence-based care. Charting and follow-up are completed during the scheduled shift, with no work taken home. The position includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions; diagnostic testing; preventive counseling; injury and illness treatment; wellness services; chronic disease management; preventive screenings; and coordination with other healthcare professionals. Providers also perform clinic operations such as inventory management, opening and closing the clinic, patient follow-up, insurance verification, payment collection, and appointment management. Physical presence at the assigned clinic is required.
Requirements
- For Nurse Practitioners: a master’s degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program; current AANP or ANCC national board certification; and an active, unrestricted state APRN license.
- For Physician Associates: graduation from an ARC-PA-accredited physician assistant program; a master’s degree in physician assistant studies or a related field for graduates of programs with post-2020 matriculation (a bachelor’s degree is acceptable for earlier graduates of accredited programs); current NCCPA certification; and an active, unrestricted state PA license or eligibility to obtain one upon hire.
- Active, unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license in good standing for NPs.
- Obtain and maintain multi-state licensure based on business needs.
- Ability to provide holistic, evidence-based care, including counseling related to pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, and safer sex practices (NPs).
- Ability to order and administer vaccines and injections, including COVID-19, influenza, TB testing, and Depo-Provera (NPs).
- Complete a DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to pass a respirator FIT test.
- Physical presence at the assigned clinic is required.
- Ability to perform duties involving prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching, and ability to perform Basic Life Support.
Nice To Haves
- One year of NP experience; qualified new graduates may be considered.
- Prior PA experience; qualified new graduates may be considered.
- Bilingual proficiency may be required depending on market needs.
- Experience with the EPIC electronic health record.
- Prior MinuteClinic precepting rotation for candidates with less than one year of provider experience.
- Experience conducting patient assessments and exercising sound clinical decision-making in a virtual care environment.
- Familiarity with digital health tools and virtual communication technologies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based primary and family care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Provide in-person and virtual visits from the clinic to support positive patient health outcomes.
- Perform diagnostic testing, preventive counseling, treatment of injuries and illnesses, and coordination of care with other healthcare professionals.
- Engage patients in wellness services, chronic disease management, and preventive health screenings.
- Complete clinic operations, including inventory management, clinic opening and closing, patient follow-up, insurance verification, and payment collection.
- Support a safe and efficient care environment through routine examinations and timely patient appointment management.
- Complete charting and follow-up during the scheduled shift.
