About The Position

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed private psychiatric center in Orlando, Florida, providing 24-hour emergency services and a continuum of care for children, adolescents, and adults. Services include inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient care, and ECT for adults. Its treatment approach emphasizes teamwork, dignity, respect, and high-quality care. The Admissions Mental Health Technician provides direct care to children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric disorders in the Admissions/Assessment area, helping ensure patients’ safety and well-being. The role includes patient observation and monitoring, facilitating therapeutic groups, conducting searches and securing contraband, assisting with daily living skills, managing patient behavior and the milieu, and documenting in patient records. The position is scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, 7 PM to 7 AM. Attendance at the full hospital and departmental orientations is required: Week 1, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; Week 2, Monday and Tuesday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Requirements

Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Investigation.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of experience working in a psychiatric setting.
CPR certification; may be acquired after hire.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Teamwork.
Availability to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations.
