About The Position

The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for reviewing prospective admissions against approved criteria, initiating contact to gather necessary data, responding to inquiries, scheduling and conducting assessments, assisting patients and their families in seeking treatment, referring inquiries when appropriate, coordinating with referral sources, arranging transportation, and maintaining all documentation related to the admissions process. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The company is looking for someone who desires to work with a growing company where systems need to be developed and implemented and is willing to learn and implement government regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of sales experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess ability and interest in acquiring professional growth through continuing education.
  • Has the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all center personnel, professional staff, representatives from government and community agencies, clients and their families, and the public.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn and implement government regulations.
  • Be able to write in a legible and coherent fashion.

  • Repetitive hand movement use and view PC. Use fax, telephone, and copier.
  • Sits or stand for long period of time, reach, bend, climb, stoop, and lift to 25lb.
  • Read and write, verbal and written communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Prioritize, meet deadlines, and use sound judgment.
  • Have reliable transportation, clean driving record, and car insurance as required by the state.
  • Consistently be at work and communicate appropriately any attendance issues with supervisor as per policy. Consistently at their workstation at the appropriately scheduled time. Does not abuse breaks and/or departure times.
  • Has the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Has the ability to write complex correspondence.
  • Has the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, visitors, and other employees of the organization.
  • Has the ability to solve practical complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear.
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 15 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies and procedures.
  • Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patient and other sources.
  • Respond promptly to inquiry calls.
  • Schedule assessments.
  • Conduct pre-admission assessments and benefits verifications.
  • Assist prospective patients and significant others in seeking treatment.
  • Refer inquiries to other agencies and community resources when not appropriate for facility assistance or admission.
  • Coordinate with referral sources.
  • Coordinate transportation arrangements for patients.
  • Responsible for maintaining all the documentation involved with the admissions process.
