About The Position
Commonwealth Care of Roanoke is seeking an Administrator in Training (AIT) to develop the skills needed to lead a health and rehabilitation center. Working alongside an experienced Administrator and preceptor, the trainee gains hands-on experience in center operations, team leadership, resident care, regulatory compliance, financial management, and quality assurance. The role is based in Roanoke, Virginia, with travel to centers in the Fredericksburg and Richmond area as needed and willingness to relocate if needed.
Requirements
- Board approval for participation in the AIT program.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to centers in the Fredericksburg and Richmond area.
- Willingness to relocate if needed.
Nice To Haves
- Degree in Healthcare Management or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a preceptor to learn all aspects of center operations.
- Develop skills in planning, organizing, and managing daily operations.
- Strengthen leadership skills through communication, delegation, hiring, employee recognition, and performance management.
- Learn the responsibilities of each department and how teams work together to support quality care.
- Learn to read, analyze, and prepare reports that measure operational performance.
- Help maintain positive relationships with residents, families, employees, and regulatory agencies.
