Administrator in Training (AIT)

Champion Care•Madison, WI

About The Position

Champion Care is recruiting for its Administrator in Training (AIT) Executive Leadership Development Program, which develops future healthcare executives to lead skilled nursing facilities. The role is intended for business operators, general managers, entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders who can apply financial judgment, people leadership, and operational expertise to facility operations. The Madison-area training territory includes Champion Care facilities serving Madison, Beloit, and Manitowoc, with participating facilities identified as Madison, Beloit, and North Ridge. The position involves regular travel across Madison and Beloit, with additional travel to Manitowoc. It is a multi-facility field development role rather than a single-site desk job. After licensure, candidates must be willing to relocate anywhere in Wisconsin to be considered for an available permanent Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) opportunity. The training covers business and financial operations, labor and workforce management, executive leadership, skilled nursing operations, resident experience, quality assurance, survey readiness, regulatory compliance, admissions, census, occupancy, referral development, and business improvement. The AIT salary is $70,000 annually. Permanent NHA opportunities generally start at $100,000 or more annually, depending on location, facility size, and responsibilities; advancement is contingent on successful training, licensure, selection, and an available position. Licensed NHAs leading a facility may qualify for profit sharing under applicable program terms; AIT participants are not eligible. Applicants must qualify for the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services Nursing Home Administrator licensure pathway, including applicable education and supervised experience requirements. Champion Care describes the program as an opportunity to learn alongside experienced NHAs and operational leaders while developing the expertise to run a skilled nursing facility and support strong teams, operating results, and resident care.
