About The Position

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) enlisted position, incumbent manages the administrative and personnel program processes of the organization and serves as liaison with the manpower/personnel offices; additionally, trains reservists in all tasks of the position. The organizational location of this position is: an Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) base Group Commander's Support Staff.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join.
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov.
  • Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems.
  • Knowledge of common clerical practices and office routines.
  • Knowledge of personnel documentation and reporting procedures.
  • Skill in integrating a variety of types of software to generate products for a single purpose.
  • Skill in assessing personnel resource requirements.
  • Knowledge of official orders preparation instructions and procedures.
  • Knowledge of reserve programs and skill in scheduling for requirements.
  • Knowledge of basic rules of grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation, and of standard abbreviations.
  • Knowledge of processes used in the ordering and distribution of forms.
  • Knowledge of civilian time keeping program, procedures, and instructions.
  • Knowledge of format and clerical procedures to arrange a variety of material from different sources.
  • Knowledge of the mission, functions and policies of the organization.
  • Knowledge of administrative and personnel processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manages execution of Publications and Forms Program and all By-Law Programs.
  • Performs work regarding planning and organizing all administrative activities and processes for the organization.
  • Studies internal operating procedures.
  • Interprets instructions and recommends ways to resolve areas of concern with administrative processes.
  • Accomplishes activities in support of the unit's civilian and military personnel, ensuring all necessary actions are accomplished and finalized.
  • Manages, prepares and maintains documentation concerning the administrative orders program.
  • Monitors and directs the control of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Integrates a variety of software to produce final products.
  • Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel office.
  • Trains reservists in all tasks of the position.
