About The Position

This position is located in the Department of Mental Health at Womack Army Medical Center At Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Duties include serving as the initial point of contact to greet and receive patients telephonically. Perform the full range of receptionist, record keeping, and miscellaneous clerical duties within the call center setting. Maintain patients' electronic records, according to regulation ensuring each entry contains proper patient and health care provider identification. Coordinate and/or schedules patient appointments with clinics or specialties. Ensure eligibility for care, and contacts Patient Administration for verification.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • Moderate Lifting up to 15lbs pounds may be required.
  • US Citizens
  • One year of specialized experience which includes performing receptionist or clerical duties in support of healthcare staff; receiving patients telephonically to schedule appointments or verify patient eligibility for medical services; and utilizing automated systems to enter information and retrieve medical data.
  • Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
  • A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
  • Qualified typist (can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors).
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
