About The Position

The incumbent provides administrative and clerical support and assistance to the Chief, Primary Care Service and Assistant Chiefs, Primary Care at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center, Department of Veterans Affairs, Columbus, Ohio. The role ensures that practices and procedures are consistent with those of the office. Duties include providing typing and clerical assistance for Primary Care Service Line Chief, Primary Care Assistant Chiefs, and other Primary Care leadership members, consultants, residents, therapists, and others as directed. The position is responsible for recording/taking minutes and transcribing information into draft and final form, editing material when necessary. Documents to be prepared or typed in support of the effective functioning of the Primary Care Service include correspondence, minutes of meetings, standard operating procedures, presentations, reports, memoranda, narrative evaluations, and proficiency ratings for Primary Care Service Line staff. The role also serves as a point of contact for Credentialing and Privileging (C&P) within the Primary Care service and maintains Ongoing Peer Performance Evaluations (OPPE), Focused Peer Performance Evaluations (FPPE), and files for providers, mid-level providers, and other administrative staff as needed.

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-5) in the normal line of progression for the occupation.
  • Specialized experience includes: providing administrative support; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; performing automation duties using such software applications as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; and providing information and customer service.
  • Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

Responsibilities
