About The Position

The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking an Administrative Supervisor to coordinate the operations and programmatic functions of DCFS Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, and 3. This position provides essential clerical, programmatic, and administrative support to the staff and clients of Child Welfare in Concordia and Catahoula parishes. The ideal candidate will be driven, collaborative, and eager to make a positive impact. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Child Welfare department in the Alexandria Region, managing administrative and business functions, and maintaining essential office systems and supplies.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in administrative services.
  • Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising, coordinating, and planning the day-to-day functions of a clerical unit.
  • Managing all administrative and business functions for Child Welfare within the Alexandria Region.
  • Ensuring operational continuity by understanding and accessing all clerical systems and duties.
  • Ensuring smooth and consistent operation of the office by maintaining phone systems, utilities, computer ports, operating equipment, doors, and alarm systems.
  • Maintaining vehicle logs, securing state vehicle keys and fuel/credit cards from staff when not in use, and submitting quarterly Office of Risk Management Vehicle Reports that track mileage for all state vehicles within the region.
  • Managing the office supply inventory by regularly assessing needs and preparing requisitions.
  • Serving as the office Inventory Control Officer.
  • Performing other duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department.
