Under general supervision, this position provides clerical, administrative, and/or cashier support to a specific County office or department. This designation is distinguished from the Administrative Specialist classification by greater work complexity and broader work activities. Responsibilities include performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as correspondence, report preparation, data entry, processing billings, receiving payments, balancing receipts, and processing mail. The role may involve serving as the initial point of contact for inquiries and complaints, researching information, making referrals, maintaining files, arranging meetings, and gathering information for special projects. Additional duties may include training on processes, scheduling document disposal, ordering supplies, maintaining confidentiality, performing mail runs, and substituting during absences. The position also emphasizes excellent customer service and contributing to a high-quality work culture through training and mentoring. Depending on the assigned area, duties can extend to processing registrations, titling functions, cashiering, preparing dockets, issuing licenses/permits, accepting court-ordered expungements, attending court, investigating legal cases, notarizing documents, providing information to the media, making travel arrangements, processing purchase orders and invoices, monitoring budgets, processing voter registrations, performing criminal searches, processing expense reports, operating registration and title systems, gathering economic development information, examining and auditing applications for compliance with state regulations, checking repair work, answering title registration inquiries, processing NMVTIS reports, performing work as a Parts Clerk, taking inventories, dispersing supplies, recommending warehouse layouts, checking and disposing of surplus equipment, performing vehicle inspections, tracking general vehicle information, photographing vehicles involved in crashes, acting as a liaison with Law Enforcement, entering time records, creating personnel actions, serving as a secretary for assigned boards, conducting audits, reconciling purchase orders, assisting vendors with payments, performing clerical work associated with contracts, and maintaining compliance status and assignments of Guardianship cases.
