About The Position

The Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission (LMVC) is seeking an individual to fill an Administrative Coordinator vacancy in its Licensing Department. Administrative Coordinators are expected to be professional, possess a good working knowledge of license requirements for motor vehicle/recreational product dealers, manufacturers, and distributors, as well as financing of these products and GAP/Vehicle Protection products. The role requires effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with supervisors, team members, agency personnel, and licensees. Key competencies include accepting direction, communicating effectively, and following policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in administrative services.
  • Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Examines application packets submitted for licensure to ensure compliance with statutory mandates of the LMVC law and the MVSF Act, as well as the requirements of the rules and regulations promulgated under the provisions of the LMVC and the MVSF.
  • Investigates and analyzes data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant to determine accuracy, authenticity, statutory compliance, and completeness of factual information to document determination of eligibility and qualification for licensure.
  • Investigates, researches, and analyzes areas of responsibilities of motor vehicle dealer and recreational product dealers to determine if other dealers have a right of protest pursuant to the statute.
  • Issues right of protest notices to dealers of their statutory rights.
  • Sets up a monitoring system for the statutory time frame for protest.
  • Assists in setting formal hearings if a protest is received.
  • Notifies appropriate parties if no protest is received and they may go forward.
  • Investigates and analyzes franchise agreements, debt waiver or debt forgiveness agreements, and vehicle protection agreements for statutory compliance and/or violations of statute.
  • Investigates and researches areas of responsibilities for trade shows.
  • Investigates out-of-state exhibitors to determine compliance with state statute.
  • Reviews documents to determine eligibility for and, if approved, issues licenses for all LMVC and MVSF applicants to do business in the state of Louisiana.
  • Advises applicants and/or licensees of the status of their application and/or requests relative to requisite information for further disposition.
  • Maintains and safeguards required records on all licenses.
  • Assists the Investigations Division with special investigations, preparation of reports of fraud, and preparation for administrative hearings in the denial of initial licensure.
  • Creates and/or indexes digital images of required documentation.
