About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, 3, or 4 at the Louisiana State Penitentiary. This position provides administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of assigned departments within a correctional environment. The role involves supporting public safety and working in a correctional facility where professionalism, resilience, and teamwork are essential. Responsibilities

  • Performs responsible departmental-program duties in accordance with rules, regulations, and policies.
  • May involve communication with other departments, customers, etc.
  • Serves as liaison and/or contact person for the department or office between and amongst other departments, customers, vendors, and agencies.
  • Serves as assistant to a manager, which could include keeping appointment schedule, preparing travel, issuing directives to others on their behalf, and relieving the manager of administrative matters.
  • Performs a variety of administrative duties, including preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining records, processing personnel and financial documents, coordinating schedules, entering and maintaining data, and providing customer service to staff and the public.
  • Ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures while supporting daily operational needs.
  • Supports daily operational needs.
