About The Position

The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking an Administrative Coordinator for its Winn Parish Child Welfare office in Winnfield, LA. This role serves as the first point of contact, creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors, and providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the front office. The position offers clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff, applicants, and clients. Responsibilities

  • Serves as Lead Coordinator for all administrative operations of the Winn Parish Office.
  • Processes employment forms, ensures completion of required documentation, provides new employee orientation to State systems and policies, and maintains personnel records.
  • Tracks driver's education training and annual driver's history updates.
  • Serves as Time Administrator.
  • Collects, verifies, and enters Applications for Leave, Overtime Requests, On-Call Sheets, and Time Entry Sheets into LaGov HR.
  • Ensures compliance with FMLA policies, verifies balances, prepares payroll adjustments, and maintains payroll audit reports.
  • Provides direct administrative and payment support to Child Welfare staff and clients, including foster children, foster parents, and vendors.
  • Ensures compliance with allowable limits, verifies documentation, and communicates with State Office as needed for corrections.
  • Serves as liaison with Information Services and Automated Systems.
  • Serves as liaison between clients, families, and agency staff to defuse potential conflicts and ensure effective communication.
  • Accepts and performs additional duties necessary for the smooth operation of the office.
