About The Position

The Attorney General's Office is seeking a highly motivated Administrative Coordinator for the Consumer Advocacy & Response Division (CARD) in the Public Protection & Advocacy Bureau. CARD handles consumer complaints, advocates for Massachusetts consumers, and implements settlements related to debt collection, mortgage lending, housing, automobile sales, utilities, and professional services. The division also provides referrals, research, community outreach, and public education. This role involves processing and assigning consumer intakes, managing correspondence, and supporting public records requests.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated interest in public service work.
  • Ability to build rapport with people from different ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
  • Excellent computer and technical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and approach workflows systemically.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or related education and/or experience.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, or other languages.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and validate consumer complaint data into the AGO’s record system.
  • Prepare and process letters in response to consumer complaints.
  • Support the collection, review, and response to requests for records under the public records laws.
  • Greet members of the public that visit the AGO’s Boston office.
  • Provide general administrative support to the office including processing mail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
