About The Position

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Administrative Coordinator for the Consumer Advocacy & Response Division (CARD) and the Central Massachusetts Regional Office in Worcester. CARD handles consumer complaints, advocates for consumers, and implements settlements in areas such as debt collection, mortgage lending, housing, automobile sales, utilities, and professional services. The division also provides referrals, conducts research, engages in community outreach, and participates in public education. The Worcester office aims to provide high-quality services to all Commonwealth residents and includes a diverse staff of attorneys, investigators, consumer specialists, and administrative personnel. The Central Massachusetts office collaborates with local organizations on consumer and public safety issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or related education and/or experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in public service work and ability to build rapport with people from different ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
  • Excellent computer and technical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel; knowledge of SharePoint, preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and approach workflows systemically.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, or other languages, preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities served.
  • Interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Enter incoming correspondence into the AGO’s record system and send outgoing correspondence in response to inquiries from the public.
  • Greet members of the public visiting the AGO’s Worcester office.
  • Enter and validate consumer complaint data into the AGO’s record system.
  • Prepare and process letters in response to consumer complaints.
  • Support the collection, review, and response to requests for records under the public records laws.
  • Provide general administrative support to the office, including processing mail.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
