The Louisiana State Police/ Transportation Safety Services (TSS) is comprised of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE), Mobile Weight Enforcement (MWE), and Towing and Recovery Units (TRU). The primary responsibilities of TSS include reducing the number and severity of commercial motor vehicle crashes as well as protecting the state’s highway infrastructure. TSS also ensures compliance with applicable state and federal regulations governing commercial vehicles, the towing and recovery industry, vehicle storage facilities, and motor vehicle inspection stations. These objectives are accomplished through a program of roadside safety inspections, annual facility inspections, and educational outreach initiatives. The Administrative Coordinator IV is a paraprofessional position that receives broad supervision from an Administrative Program Manager 2 and serves as a liaison between commissioned officers conducting compliance inspections, the commercial vehicle industry, and the public. The TSS Administrative Coordinator IV uses independent knowledge of federal and state commercial vehicle regulations, along with sound judgement to provide specific and situational guidance and direction to questions and/or complaints from the public regarding the applicability of the state regulations.
