About The Position

Reporting directly to an Administrative Specialist II at a multi-custody female correctional facility, this position works in the Human Resources Department and will perform a variety of administrative, clerical, and office support duties. Other job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Utilizing knowledge of Department of Adult Correction (DAC) Policies and Procedures and facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in order to complete work duties and communicate information involving programs, functions, and services on personnel and others matters. 2. Utilizing a high level of confidentiality and must be able to work independently as well as in a team. 3. Requiring a high degree of understanding of general office practices and procedures along with the ability to communicate well with other staff, agencies, and the general public. 4. Maintaining the Fixed Asset Tracking system. 5. Assisting in the Mailroom as needed. 6. Performing back up duties to the Timekeeper and Hiring Associate. 7. Being eligible to be DCI certified and obtaining a Notary Public Certificate for HR purposes. 8. Composing emails, answering a multi-line phone system and utilizing office technology. 9. Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets. 10. Preparing of documents and reports. 11. Compiling records and organizing and maintaining files. 12. Performing all other special projects and duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the Minimum Education and Experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
