About The Position

The Administrative Assistant position in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) will serve as the first point of contact for the office, greeting all walk-in traffic, managing administrative processes, and providing customer service for a variety of functional areas. The purpose of this role is to support the ARC’s mission of providing and administering student disability accommodations, including direct assistance with the ARC’s test proctoring service. The Administrative Assistant provides a full range of administrative support to the Academic Resource Center. This position staffs the front desk of the physical office and manages a number of processes and procedures that require direct interaction with students, faculty, staff, and community members on a regular basis. This person performs general administrative duties, which supports the staff and student programs with the Center. Additional responsibilities include: management of various forms of office data, assisting with staff appointment scheduling and calendar maintenance, assisting with monitoring and ordering office supplies, creating reports, regular assistance with the ARC’s in-house test proctoring operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years of experience as an office manager or administrative assistant
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Ability to prioritize work with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated flexibility in a dynamic work environment
  • Familiarity with Google and Microsoft Office suites, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High level of professional and polished communication
  • Ability to perform light to moderate physical activity and to provide physical support on site to student programs on an occasional basis.
