About The Position

At the Louisiana Department of Revenue, we are dedicated to fairly and efficiently administering the state’s tax laws to ensure compliance while providing exceptional customer service. We’re looking for an Administrative Assistant 6 to provide support to Tax Group I! An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies: Accepting Direction: The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions. Communicating Effectively: The ability to convey information, ideas, and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding and engagement. Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in administrative services.
  • Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 hours, which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience.
  • Must adhere to all tax laws of the State of Louisiana.
  • Must complete a criminal history records check prior to the first day of work if conditionally offered employment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality in all work related matters.
  • Maintain and exercise office etiquette and decorum to ensure professionalism in the workplace.
  • Greet visitors and guests for the Assistant Secretary; determine the purpose of each person's visit and direct or escort him or her to the appropriate location.
  • Maintain appointments and calendar for the Assistant Secretary.
  • Assist the Assistant Secretary and executive staff as needed.
