About The Position

This position involves teaching IAS 302: Seminar in International Studies at Brigham Young University. The role includes facilitating discussions, grading written assignments, and administering course finals. The successful candidate will be expected to meet all standards outlined for faculty at Brigham Young University and collaborate with Area Studies Coordinators as needed. This position requires the candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment. Applicants are required to submit an updated curriculum vitae, cover letter, and a Mission Alignment Statement. All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend. All employees are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards. Preference is given to qualified candidates who are members in good standing of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience teaching at the university level.
  • Familiarity with the International Area Study Programs
  • Experience in adapting curriculum to meet specific audience needs.
  • Must be able to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Must submit an updated curriculum vitae, cover letter, and Mission Alignment Statement.
  • Must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend (if a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
  • Must abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
