About The Position

This position involves teaching IAS 300: Professional Development in International Studies for the Evening School at Brigham Young University. The role includes delivering in-class lectures, creating and grading assessments, and managing assignments. The adjunct faculty member will communicate regularly with the IAS Academic Program Director and collaborate with Area Studies Coordinators as needed. All faculty are expected to meet the standards set by Brigham Young University. This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree required, preferably in a related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Experience teaching Career and Professional Development skills to students from all academic disciplines.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • All employees are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of experience teaching Career and Professional Development skills.
  • Practical Experience in Career Services, including student mentoring.
  • Experience in adapting curriculum to meet specific audience needs.
  • Strong familiarity with the key concepts outlined in the approved course curriculum.
  • Preference given to qualified candidates who are members in good standing of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
