About The Position

This position involves teaching IAS 300: Professional Development in International Studies for the Evening School at Brigham Young University (BYU). The role requires delivering in-class lectures, creating and grading assessments, and managing assignments. The adjunct faculty member will also be responsible for regular communication with the IAS Academic Program Director and collaborating with Area Studies Coordinators as needed. The position requires adherence to all faculty standards at BYU and a willingness to support the university's academic and religious missions. The successful candidate must relocate to and reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree required, preferably in a related field, completed by the start date.
  • Experience teaching Career and Professional Development skills to students from all academic disciplines.
  • Practical Experience in Career Services, including student mentoring.
  • Experience in adapting curriculum to meet specific audience needs.
  • Strong familiarity with the key concepts outlined in the approved course curriculum.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Attach updated curriculum vitae, cover letter, and Mission Alignment Statement to the faculty application.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: 4+ years of experience teaching Career and Professional Development skills.
