About The Position

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking adjunct instructors to support customized training, consulting, and coaching programs for businesses and organizations. The role involves providing effective instruction to adult learners, maintaining a positive learning environment, and adhering to college policies. Instructors will also be responsible for record-keeping, curriculum development, instructional design, assessment, responding to inquiries, reporting incidents, participating in professional development, and maintaining professional competence. Courses can be scheduled during the day, evening, or on weekends, and will be held on campus.

Requirements

  • Experience in customized training, consulting, and coaching programs
  • Ability to provide effective didactic and skills instruction to adult learners
  • Ability to maintain a positive and safe learning environment
  • Ability to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
  • Ability to serve as a role model and advocate for student success
  • Ability to maintain participation and performance records
  • Ability to collaborate on curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment
  • Ability to provide timely and appropriate response to inquiries
  • Ability to report incidents
  • Ability to participate in professional development
  • Ability to maintain professional competence, certifications/licensure
  • Ability to provide analysis and reports
  • Experience in areas such as change management, conflict resolution, customer service, diversity and equity, leadership development, organizational culture, process improvement, and supervisory skills.
