This position is for an Adjunct Instructor in Adult Education, focusing on Adult Basic Education/Secondary Equivalent (ABE/ASE) for the 2026-2027 period. The role involves providing online program expectations, developing individualized support and educational planning, and guiding students using assessment data. The instructor will advise students on study materials and resources, maintain accurate records, and participate in retention efforts. Responsibilities include completing student attendance, encouraging students to keep accurate records, reaching out to absent students, and arranging or proctoring post-testing. The instructor will also support students in preparing for GED® assessments, including scheduling and requesting vouchers. Specific instruction and support for math and reading needs at the K-12 level are required, along with enhancing text- and online-based explanations. The role also involves making material recommendations and adjustments to meet student learning needs. A minimum of 8 hours of professional development annually is required, along with completing state- and program-required professional development and attending mandatory program in-service and meetings. The instructor will also promote a Culture of Belonging by supporting an environment where all individuals feel welcomed, valued, and empowered, fostering a community that enriches the educational experience and creates a safe and respectful environment.
