About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Mental Health Therapist/Substance Abuse Counselor for its detox and residential treatment facility in Aurora, Colorado. The role is in person and involves providing individualized, evidence-based clinical care within a collaborative, mission-driven team. Therapists help clients stabilize, engage in treatment, and move forward in recovery.

Requirements

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
• Active Colorado licensure or certification, such as LAC, LPCC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, CAS, CAC III, or ADDC.
• Strong clinical judgment, observation, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in substance use disorder, mental health, or co-occurring disorders.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Facilitate individual, group, family, and couples therapy.
• Manage clinical services and aftercare planning for an assigned caseload.
• Prevent, intervene, and de-escalate during crisis situations.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of progress, risks, and interventions.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director, multidisciplinary treatment team, and families.
• Model recovery-centered values, including ethics, accountability, dignity, and respect.
