About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring Mental Health Therapists/Substance Abuse Counselors for its detox and residential treatment facility in Aurora, Colorado. The role provides individualized, evidence-based clinical care in an in-person setting, supporting clients as they stabilize, engage in treatment, and progress in recovery. Therapists work with assigned caseloads and collaborate with the Clinical Director, a multidisciplinary treatment team, and families.
Requirements
- Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
- Active Colorado licensure or certification, such as LAC, LPCC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, CAS, CAC III, or ADDC.
- Strong clinical judgment, observation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality.

- Experience in substance use disorder, mental health, or co-occurring disorders.
Responsibilities
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Facilitate individual, group, family, and couples therapy.
- Manage clinical services and aftercare planning for an assigned caseload.
- Prevent, intervene, and de-escalate crisis situations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of progress, risks, and interventions.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director, multidisciplinary treatment team, and families.
- Model recovery-centered values, including ethics, accountability, dignity, and respect.
