About The Position

Prime Independent Living is seeking a creative, energetic, and people-focused Activities Assistant to help deliver engaging programs, events, and experiences for residents. Working alongside the Activities & Lifestyle Director, the assistant helps foster a vibrant, inclusive, resident-centered community where residents can connect, stay active, pursue their interests, and enjoy meaningful experiences.

The role supports daily activities, special events, celebrations, wellness programs, educational opportunities, outings, and community involvement. It also includes helping promote programs, tracking attendance and resident feedback, coordinating with volunteers and community partners, assisting residents during outings, and driving community vehicles for scheduled events as needed. The assistant may also welcome prospective residents and families at events, assist with tours, and support other community projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort engaging with groups, leading activities, and encouraging resident participation.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, calendars, and communication tools.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Successful completion of background screening and drug testing requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in activities, recreation, hospitality, event planning, senior living, or a related field.
• Experience working with older adults.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing a calendar of activities, events, educational programs, wellness opportunities, and social experiences.
• Lead and support daily activities that reflect residents' interests, preferences, and passions.
• Build relationships with residents and encourage participation in community programs.
• Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and resident-centered environment.
• Assist with planning, preparing, and hosting special events, themed celebrations, holiday programs, entertainment, and community gatherings.
• Help coordinate resident outings, local excursions, and other on- and off-campus experiences.
• Support visiting entertainers, volunteers, and community partners during scheduled programs.
• Collaborate with team members across departments to create community experiences.
• Facilitate activities that support physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
• Encourage participation in wellness programs, recreational activities, and social opportunities.
• Assist with religious services, educational presentations, volunteer opportunities, and community involvement.
• Help ensure activities are welcoming, accessible, and reflective of residents' diverse interests and abilities.
• Assist with preparing and distributing monthly activity calendars, newsletters, and promotional materials.
• Promote upcoming events through communication channels, digital displays, printed materials, and personal outreach to residents.
• Keep residents informed about upcoming programs and opportunities.
• Track attendance, gather resident feedback, and share ideas to enhance programming.
• Work with the Activities & Lifestyle Director to execute daily programming and special initiatives.
• Assist volunteers and community partners participating in resident activities.
• Collaborate with community team members to support resident satisfaction and a positive community culture.
• Welcome prospective residents and families during community events and assist with tours as needed.
• Support additional community projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Assist with transportation arrangements for resident outings and scheduled activities.
• Drive community vehicles for scheduled events and excursions as needed.
• Assist residents during outings, activities, and special events to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
• Serve as a friendly, helpful resource for residents, families, guests, and fellow team members.
