About The Position

Bahama Bay Club is a progressive assisted living and memory care community in Sanford, Florida. The Activities Assistant plans and coordinates meaningful recreational activities for residents, leading and assisting with activities throughout the day in group or individual settings. Programs should respect residents’ individual choices and encourage participation. The role also supports a high level of customer service for residents and their guests and includes participation in continuing education, staff training, orientation, and facility in-service programs. Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Lifestyles.

Requirements

Flexibility, patience, and creativity.
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
Ability to work in close cooperation with residents and guests.
Valid driver’s license to drive a 14-passenger van.
Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Independently plan and coordinate meaningful activities for residents.
Lead and assist residents with activities throughout the day to meet their individual needs, in group or individual settings.
Provide recreational programs that respect individual choices and promote resident participation.
Help maintain a high level of customer service for residents and their guests.
Attend and participate in continuing educational programs, scheduled training and educational classes, orientation programs, and facility in-service programs.
Complete assigned tasks according to established policies and procedures and supervisor instructions, and follow work assignments and schedules.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Lifestyles.
