About The Position

Ryan Transportation and Shamrock Trading Corporation is looking to add an Accounts Payable Specialist to the Ryan Transportation operations team. This role supports carrier and vendor payment operations by ensuring accurate, timely payments, resolving issues with clients, carriers, and internal teams, and maintaining effective controls to reduce risk.

Requirements

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products, especially Microsoft Excel
• High energy and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment
• Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and to manage time effectively
• Requires an ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of employees, managers, and customers

Nice To Haves

• B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance or two years of experience in an administrative or billing environment

Responsibilities

• Assist in vendor and carrier payment process for Ryan Transportation and Shamrock which includes ensuring accuracy of outgoing payments, ensuring payments are made timely, and ensuring controls are in place to mitigate risk
• Work directly with clients, carriers, and internal brokers to answer and resolve problems
• Correspond with carriers to obtain paperwork
• Gain understanding of the overall operations of Ryan Transportation, and the roles that various departments play in the Company
• Assist in reviewing payment processes for controls and efficiencies and implement changes as required
• Internal/customer reporting and general ledger tasks including month-end
• Answer inbound phone calls/make outbound phone calls as it pertains to carrier payments and setups
• Additional accounting or operational projects as assigned by Team Coordinator, Supervisor, or other members of Management
