About The Position

Barnes Dennig Internal Financial Services helps power the firm’s success by playing an integral part in delivering complete, accurate, consistent, timely and insightful internal financial information helping Barnes Dennig operate efficiently and effectively. The Accounting Specialist plays a vital role in collaborating with the Internal Finance Team as a detail-oriented and driven colleague contributing to the diverse day-to-day activities within the internal finance function. The Accounting Specialist position offers a unique variety of opportunities to add value by working in both, a dynamic team environment and independently, while displaying accuracy and efficiencies with firm financial information ensuring the daily operations of the firm’s financial function runs smoothly. As an Accounting Specialist, you will immediately begin assisting in performing an array of internal accounting functions to include daily, monthly, and annual activities, such as generating financial reports, maintaining accurate and complete records, including ledgers, journals, invoices, and receipts, monitoring credit card transactions, bank accounts activities and miscellaneous charges, assist in monthly reconciliation, month-end reports and projects, and resolving any discrepancies identified. As part of the Internal Financial Services team, you will be expected to produce work at a high level in a fast-paced environment as you meet deadlines and customer expectations focused on accuracy, confidentiality and quality, while being responsible for maintaining general firm accounting information as you interact with internal clients on questions and issues, along with performing additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • 2+ years of experience working with internal financial information and reporting in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting principles with impeccable attention to detail
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve basic accounting issues efficiently and successfully
  • Proficiency with the use of technology to include advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with online banking software applications
  • Highly effective skillset as it relates to interacting with clients, coworkers, and leadership teams in a positive and professional manner; building strong relationships and networks, customer service, dependability, verbal and written communication, presentation, listening and confidentiality.
