About The Position

The Accounting Manager leads the full-cycle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close in a complex, multi-entity environment. The role oversees and develops a team of accountants, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, reviews transactions and reconciliations, and provides technical accounting guidance on complex matters. It partners with business leaders to support sound financial decision-making and maintains strong internal controls and audit readiness. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week onsite in the Charlotte area office.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a multi-entity and complex organizational structure.
• At least 3 years of direct people management experience leading and developing accounting staff.
• Demonstrated experience owning and managing the full-cycle month-end close process.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and accounting internal controls.
• Experience preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements and intercompany accounting.
• Ability to perform detailed financial statement reviews and identify accounting, reporting, and operational risks.
• Experience researching, documenting, and applying technical accounting guidance.
• NetSuite experience within the last year.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, financial models, and data analysis.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience presenting financial results and accounting issues to management, auditors, lenders, and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

• CPA certification.
• Public accounting experience, preferably with Big 4 or large regional firms.
• Experience in construction, renewable energy, project-based, or infrastructure-related industries.
• Experience with debt compliance, lender reporting, and investor reporting.
• Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close across multiple legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accountants; establish accountability and review their work.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and other close activities for compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Manage accounting and reporting for a complex multi-entity structure, including consolidations, intercompany transactions, eliminations, and ownership structures.
• Review balance sheets and income statements, analyzing trends, variances, unusual transactions, and potential accounting issues.
• Research and document technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, debt and equity transactions, and business combinations, as applicable.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to support accurate financial statements and audit readiness.
• Act as a primary liaison with external auditors for annual audits, quarterly reviews, and financial information requests.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, Procurement, Treasury, Tax, and executive leadership to ensure business activities and accounting impacts are reflected appropriately in financial statements.
• Support lender, investor, and management reporting, including covenant reporting and ad hoc financial analyses.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and efficiencies in NetSuite and related financial systems.
• Use NetSuite to oversee close activities, reporting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Develop and maintain advanced Excel analyses, reconciliations, and reporting tools.
• Support special projects, acquisitions, integrations, and system implementations as needed.
