About The Position

The Accounting Intern will support the Foodbuy Accounting department in Charlotte, North Carolina, during a paid internship running May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. The internship is hybrid and scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The intern will contribute to process improvement and efficiency initiatives, support preparation of monthly reporting packages for Compass sectors, and assist with monthly close activities, including data validation and reporting. The position offers hands-on exposure to accounting operations and how financial data supports decision-making. It is not eligible for PTO or benefits such as medical, dental, or vision coverage; relocation and housing benefits are also not provided.

Requirements

• Be a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Have proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Access.
• Have a strong analytical mindset and eagerness to learn advanced accounting systems and processes.
• Work effectively in a diverse, collaborative environment and contribute to a positive team culture.
• Have excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Have strong organizational habits and the ability to manage deadlines and balance multiple tasks.
• Be detail-oriented, curious, and self-directed, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Be flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and business needs.
• Demonstrate an interest in the hospitality, service, or food industry and eagerness to explore accounting in a complex operational environment.
• Demonstrate leadership capabilities through coursework, campus involvement, or previous work experience.

• Interest in analytics tools such as macros and Power BI.

Responsibilities
