Accounting Intern - Financial & Technical Accoutning (Charlotte,NC, Summer '27, Hybrid)
About The Position
Compass Group is recruiting a Financial & Technical Accounting intern for its corporate offices in Charlotte, North Carolina. The internship runs from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role is paid but is not eligible for paid time off or medical, dental, vision, or other benefits. The intern will gain hands-on corporate accounting experience, apply classroom knowledge, learn through job shadowing, and build professional networks while working with a collaborative team at the company’s North American headquarters. Employment-based visa and permanent residency sponsorship are not available for this position.
Requirements
- Be a rising junior or above majoring in Accounting.
- Ability to work independently and strong problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Excel.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the monthly accounting close process, including accounting entries and reconciliations for acquisition-related accounts.
- Assist with purchase accounting for acquired and divested entities.
- Collect, document, and track prepared-by-client (PBC) records for the annual IFRS audit.
- Research accounting standards to answer technical accounting queries.
