About The Position

This position is responsible for organizing and processing thrift store financial records for the Kentucky-Tennessee Division. The role serves as a liaison between divisional headquarters and local thrift store managers and commanding officers. The Accounting Clerk II reviews all information pertaining to thrift store financial data and follows established systems to ensure compliance with all policies, plans, procedures, laws, and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience working in a general office with some accounting responsibilities and Sage OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to type and perform data entry.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, typewriter, computer, fax machine and adding machine.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with constant breaks in concentration associated with answering phones, or speaking to persons requiring assistance.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing in an effective and professional manner including the providing of clear instructions to employees.
  • Ability to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Ability to travel when needed to accomplish assigned job duties.
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and processes thrift store financial records.
  • Serves as a liaison for divisional headquarters and local thrift store managers and commanding officers.
  • Reviews all information pertaining to thrift store financial data and ensures compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Assists the local accountant with the entry of invoices for payment.
  • Enters and codes entries for officer approval in the AP System.
  • Learns to print checks remotely as needed.
  • Provides support and participates in cross-training in other accounting and finance functions.
  • Researches, compiles, interprets, and summarizes information for various reports, spreadsheets, surveys, and special projects.
  • Researches files, accounts, records, etc., to resolve problems and/or correct documented information.
  • Informs appropriate people of discoveries.
