About The Position

Fastenal is seeking a full-time Account Specialist for its branch at 5115 Pegasus Ct, Frederick, Maryland. The role focuses on growing and supporting branch key accounts by developing customer relationships and matching products and solutions to customer needs. The position involves developing and executing a local territory sales plan, supporting key accounts’ day-to-day needs, and maintaining an assigned book of business. Fastenal provides on-the-job, online, instructor-led classroom, and virtual training to help employees develop the skills and knowledge needed for the role and to grow with the company.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Possess a current, full, valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located, including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program, and be able to meet company driving-record requirements to use a company vehicle as needed.
Possess or be working toward a degree in Business/Marketing, or have related industry experience and knowledge of the local market.
Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
Exhibit strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.
Be highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service oriented.
Be able to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Demonstrate the company's core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Be able to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and up to 75 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only).

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a sales plan in a local territory to reach and exceed sales goals.
Support the day-to-day needs of the branch's key accounts.
Work directly with key accounts.
Grow and maintain an assigned book of business.
Perform other duties as needed to ensure branch success.
