About The Position

The Accessioner accurately handles and processes laboratory specimens, including using automated instrumentation to aliquot serum specimens. The role follows laboratory procedures, identifies the correct tubes and containers for each test type, discards old specimens according to date received, and helps maintain the quality of departmental resources and laboratory services. The Accessioner follows safety, infection-control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines; participates in departmental safety and quality-assurance programs; and uses supplies with minimal waste.

This is a full-time position at 4200 Pleasant Valley Road, Chantilly, Virginia 20151. The stated schedule is 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with alternating weekends and a weekend rotation. The posting lists 35 to 40 hours and 40 scheduled weekly hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds.
