About The Position

The Accessioner handles and processes laboratory specimens, including accurately using automated instrumentation to aliquot serum specimens. The role follows laboratory procedures for specimen processing, identifies the proper tubes and containers for each test, and discards old specimens according to their receipt date. The Accessioner helps maintain the quality of departmental resources and laboratory services, follows safety, infection control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines, participates in safety and quality assurance programs, and uses supplies with minimal waste.

This is a full-time position at 4200 Pleasant Valley Road, Chantilly, VA 20151. The schedule is 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with alternating weekends and a weekend rotation. The stated weekly hours are 40. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to lift 30 pounds.
