About The Position
As an Access Associate, you will provide administrative support by greeting patients, completing check-in and check-out procedures, and processing payments. You will be the first point of contact for patients and their families, so a warm and inviting disposition is important. This per-diem position is in the Admitting Department at Unity Hospital in Rochester, New York. The schedule is a day shift from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a weekend rotation.
Requirements
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- A two-year degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage incoming calls and provide necessary information.
- Greet patients, provide direction as needed, and schedule patient appointments.
- Complete patient registration according to departmental policy.
- Verify insurance eligibility and coverage, and obtain precertification or authorization when applicable.
- Collect and process payments when applicable.
