About The Position

The Academic Instructor provides academic tutoring to K–12 students in areas including reading, math, science, and social studies. The role involves creating engaging, fun lessons tailored to different academic levels and supporting students’ academic development in a motivating environment. Tutors work with a high degree of autonomy and are expected to maintain an organized, clean work and classroom environment. This is a part-time, in-person position running from August through June, with compensation of $25–$50 per hour. Reading Specialist or Special Education experience is a plus.

Requirements

• Completed a bachelor's degree.
• At least two years of teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience working with neurodiverse students.
• Fun, upbeat personality and strong interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and learning.
• Impeccable time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and compellingly.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel.
• Easy access to and proficiency with the Internet, email, and electronic communications.
• Excellent references.
• Must pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Reading Specialist experience.
• Special Education experience.
• Experience as an educational therapist or behavioral therapist.

Responsibilities
