About The Position

Lead the ABL Credit Delivery team responsible for structuring, underwriting, and managing ABL transactions and loans for Commercial and Corporate banking clients. This role involves leading teams that structure, underwrite, negotiate, and close ABL transactions, as well as managing asset managers to mitigate credit risk within the ABL portfolio. The position also includes mentoring and coaching team leaders, driving the restructuring of problem loans and workouts, and closely monitoring complex transactions. A key aspect of this role is managing ABL credit, operational, and market risk within pre-approved risk tolerance levels.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • Series 79 or 63 licenses
  • 15+ years of related work experience
  • Extensive subject matter expertise including advanced understanding of industry drivers, product positioning, structuring and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across functional areas to resolve complex issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills which foster teamwork, trust, creativity/innovation and accountability.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and insightfully.
  • Evidence of ability to develop and retain top talent.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA degree, with a Finance focus
  • 3-5 years of management experience
  • Diversified product structuring/underwriting/portfolio management experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of underwriters and analysts in the execution of new ABL transactions.
  • Attract, retain and develop a team of top credit professionals.
  • Drive in depth qualitative and quantitative analysis culminating in structures that balance client needs with risk appetite.
  • Guide underwriting team on structuring and negotiating of legal documents.
  • Communicate and oversee compliance with risk policies and procedures.
  • Work with originations, portfolio management, legal, compliance and risk partners to align strategic objectives, share market knowledge, and facilitate seamless execution.
