About The Position

Richter Consulting, Inc. (“RCI”) is a member of the Richter Group, serving clients with a multidisciplinary group of 6 partners and approximately 20 professionals. RCI works with US-based leverage lenders, private equity firms, and major banks regarding their portfolio companies/investments, providing expertise in Asset-Based Lending Diligence, Business Assessment, Cash Flow Forecasting, Financial Reorganization/Profitability Improvement, Crisis Management, and Transaction Advisory. Richter Consulting is seeking an experienced professional at the analyst level for their Asset Based Lending diligence practice. Engagements are primarily conducted in US cities, focusing on a risk-based approach to collateral reviews for leading US financial institutions, often for refinancings and turnaround strategies. Deal teams of 3-4 professionals deliver asset-based lending consultation services to companies across various industries, including Consumer Products, Retail, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Services.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience (CPA)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and organizational skills
  • Strong aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Ability to rapidly identify key issues and make recommendations
  • Superior financial analysis skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Some US travel required (~15%)
  • Ability to link findings to strategy

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (Power BI, Microsoft Access, Alteryx and IDEA) an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of borrowing base reports, outlining collateral sources and associated ineligibles and reserves
  • Evaluating collateral, including inventory and accounts receivables, through comprehensive analysis and discussions with management
  • Assessing key financial, operational, and lender risks
  • Providing insights to lenders on critical liquidity issues, profitability, forecasts, and other business concerns
  • Understanding the company's controls and processes as part of a comprehensive risk assessment
  • Review and analysis of financial data and trends relating to the collateral and the borrower’s business
  • Assessments of collateral borrowing base
  • Evaluation of financial reporting systems
  • Regular communications with lenders through written reports and exit interviews
  • Occasional involvement in other engagements such as business assessments, liquidity reviews, operational/profitability improvements, corporate finance, and due diligence
