Johnson County Mental Health Center is hiring an Overnight Shift Supervisor/988 Clinician for its 988 Crisis Team, which provides mental health crisis services primarily by phone. The team operates a 24/7 crisis line, participates in the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Network (988), and is co-located in Johnson County’s Communication Center with Sheriff, Fire, and Med-Act 911 dispatch. It works closely with county first responders and other JCMHC programs. The center’s approach is grounded in the belief that people can learn, change, and grow, and in providing hope and promoting recovery through a strengths-based approach. The Shift Supervisor provides clinical guidance and operational leadership to staff on the assigned shift, including coaching, mentoring, training, quality review, and input into evaluations and hiring. The role also provides crisis support by answering calls, chats, and texts; assessing risk and needs; developing safety plans; coordinating care; and documenting services. The supervisor collaborates with 988 leadership and community partners and may assist with crisis assessments for youth at the Juvenile Intake Assessment Center. The schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week, Wednesday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., plus an 8-hour Saturday shift from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. every other week. The 988 Shift Supervisor role adds up to an additional 5% to the salary offer, not to exceed the top of the pay range. Johnson County also offers a skill-based pay plan of up to $4,200 annually for staff with BSRB clinical-level licensure.
