Johnson County Mental Health Center is hiring an Overnight Shift Supervisor/988 Clinician for its 988 Crisis Team, which provides mental health crisis services primarily by phone. The team operates a local 24/7 crisis line and participates in the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Network (988). It is co-located in Johnson County’s Communication Center with Sheriff, Fire, and Med-Act 911 dispatch, and works closely with first responders and other JCMHC programs. The position reflects JCMHC’s strength-based approach of providing hope and promoting recovery. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts each week, Wednesday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., plus an additional 8-hour shift every other Saturday from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. The Shift Supervisor provides clinical and operational leadership during the assigned shift, supervises and develops staff, reviews documentation and quality, and helps coordinate crisis response and care. The role also provides direct crisis support by phone, chat, and text, including risk triage, safety planning, outreach, and documentation. The position requires a master’s degree in a human services field and Kansas master’s-level behavioral sciences licensure in the relevant area. Clinical-level Kansas licensure and one year of relevant experience are preferred. Johnson County offers benefits, retirement plans, wellness incentives, and a skill-based pay plan that may provide up to $4,200 annually for eligible clinical licensure. The Shift Supervisor role adds up to 5% to the salary offer, subject to the top of the pay range.
