6th Grade Math Teacher
About The Position
Eastpointe Middle School is seeking a Math Teacher to inspire strong math instruction, guide learners, and build productive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the community. The teacher will help grow math scholars and foster a culture of pride and high achievement in mathematics. The position includes differentiating and scaffolding math learning for individual students and working alongside the Principal and Math Team to advance the district’s math program. Eastpointe Community Schools emphasizes continuous improvement, professional learning, and meeting students’ academic, behavioral, and interpersonal needs. The middle school campus serves students in grades 6 and 7.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education with a Math major, or higher.
- State of Michigan teaching certification, EX, Grades 6–12, or certification in process.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of student management techniques.
- Community-oriented approach.
- Successful classroom teaching experience.
- Experience working with a diverse population.
Responsibilities
- Deliver impactful math instruction and inspire excellent math learning.
- Guide math learners and differentiate and scaffold instruction for each student.
- Help develop a school culture of pride and high achievement in mathematics.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the community.
- Work with the Principal and Math Team to move the math program forward.
- Participate in professional math learning and the PLC Cycle.
- Address students’ academic, behavioral, and interpersonal needs.
